When we speak of who we are as Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, we are describing the heritage that is ours as daughters of the Church in the twenty-first century. As St. Cecilia Dominicans, we have a devotion to the Mass and the Blessed Sacrament, the Divine Office, personal prayer, the Rosary, and the Passion of our Lord. We have a regular prayer life, a spirit of poverty, and live the classical sense of the Dominican charism. We are committed to excellence in education, music and fine arts, adapting to various cultures. We value reverence for priests and hospitality. We have a love of study and are educated for an independence of spirit. We have a loving and wholesome community life which strengthens us for a loving service of the people we serve in our schools. We have joy and love and enjoy being together. We treasure our vows, particularly that obedience which is the source of our liberty. We have pride and loyalty in our community. We must live in fidelity to these gifts and lead others to know the truth and to love the good. (Ratio Institutionis)
