Who are you, St. Cecilia? God’s beloved one. Let me know you St. Cecilia, how you gave your heart to God’s Son.
The above text which is traditionally sung on St. Cecilia’s feast day summarizes our desire to live more fully the heritage that is ours as daughters of St. Dominic and St. Cecilia in the 21st century. Who is St. Cecilia? These pages provide an opportunity to learn more about this early martyr whose timeless message of sacrificial love for Christ and the Church continues to inspire us today. As patroness of our Congregation, St. Cecilia provides added inspiration to our Dominican way of life. In anticipation of her feast day on November 22, we pray a community novena in her honor. Our Motherhouse chapel, the Chapel of St. Cecilia, is named in her honor, and her life is portrayed in the beautiful stained glass windows that surround us as we pray.
